Topstep payout eligibility depends on the account stage and payout path. Express Funded Account Standard requires five non-consecutive winning days with at least $150 net P&L and, after the first payout, positive net profit since the prior payout. Express Funded Account Consistency requires three trading days and a largest day at or below 40% of total net profit. Live Funded Accounts normally require five $150 winning days, with daily payout access after 30 qualifying Live days.
Topstep payouts move through four separate checkpoints: eligibility, approval, transfer, and receipt. A trader can satisfy the trading rules but still wait for an internal review, a payment rail, and a bank or brokerage to post the money. This guide uses Topstep’s official documents checked July 31, 2026. It is document-based research, not a test of a funded account or proof that a particular request will be approved or received on a stated schedule.
How the Topstep payout process works
| Checkpoint | What it means | What it does not prove |
|---|---|---|
| Eligibility | The account meets the stated trading-day, profit, consistency, balance, and request-window rules. | That Topstep has approved the request. |
| Approval | Topstep completes its policy, conduct, strategy, identity, and tax-form review. | That a bank transfer has started or arrived. |
| Transfer | Topstep releases an approved amount through the selected payout method. | That the receiving institution has posted the funds. |
| Receipt | The net amount appears in the trader’s bank, Wise, or brokerage account. | That every future payout will follow the same timing. |
Requests are made from an Express Funded Account or Live Funded Account in the Topstep Dashboard during CME market hours, Sunday at 5 PM CT through Friday at 5 PM CT, excluding holidays. The stated minimum request is $125. Topstep’s current policy uses a 90/10 profit split for most traders. The policy separately states that traders who joined the new dashboard before January 12, 2026 receive 100% of their first $10,000 in lifetime profits before the 90/10 split applies.
Topstep payout eligibility by account path
Express Funded Account Standard payouts
The Standard path requires five non-consecutive winning days with at least $150 net P&L. For payouts after the first one, the account must also show positive net profit since the prior payout. The day a request is submitted does not count toward the next five-day cycle, and the count restarts after a payout.
For the normal Standard path, a request is limited to 50% of the account balance and the account-size cap below.
| XFA size | Standard cap per request |
|---|---|
| $50K | $2,000 |
| $100K | $3,000 |
| $150K | $5,000 |
Express Funded Account Consistency payouts
The Consistency path requires at least three trading days with one or more trades per day. The largest single day must be no more than 40% of total net profit for the payout window. The consistency calculation and three-day count restart after a payout.
The normal Consistency path also limits a request to 50% of the account balance and the applicable cap.
| XFA size | Consistency cap per request |
|---|---|
| $50K | $3,000 |
| $100K | $4,000 |
| $150K | $6,000 |
Time-sensitive cap note: Topstep’s policy currently describes a limited-time offer that can double these XFA caps when a trader adds a Daily Loss Limit while purchasing a new Trading Combine. Adding it later during XFA activation does not qualify. The official policy does not state an end date, so verify the checkout terms and dashboard before treating the higher cap as available.
Live Funded Account payouts
A Live Funded Account normally requires five non-consecutive $150 winning days for each payout cycle. A trader may request up to 50% of the account balance with no stated dollar cap. After 30 non-consecutive $150 winning days in the Live Funded Account, daily payout access becomes available. Winning days from an Express Funded Account do not count toward the 30-day Live total.
Topstep says a trader may request as much of the available balance as desired after the daily-access threshold, subject to the $125 minimum. A full 100% payout closes the Live Funded Account because its balance reaches the Maximum Loss Limit. Review the separate Topstep rules guide before deciding how a withdrawal changes the account’s risk room.
What Topstep checks before payout approval
Eligibility opens the request form; it does not guarantee approval. Topstep says its review covers the payout-policy requirements, prohibited conduct, its Terms of Use and professional-behavior rules, and prohibited trading strategies. The request process also requires a W-9 for a US person or W-8BEN for a non-US person.
Topstep states that internal approval can take one to three business days. A payout can be sent only to a bank account in the trader’s own name. These checks belong to the approval stage, so they should not be blended into a payment method’s transfer estimate.
Topstep payout transfer times and fees
The estimates below begin after approval. Topstep describes them as estimates and excludes weekends and holidays.
| Method | Availability | Stated transfer estimate | Stated Topstep fee |
|---|---|---|---|
| Prop-to-Brokerage | United States | Same day if requested by 12 PM CT | $0 |
| Aeropay | Supported US banks | Real-time after approval when the bank supports real-time payments; otherwise 1 to 3 business days | $0 |
| Wise | Domestic and international | 1 to 3 business days | $0 |
| ACH | US banks | 1 to 3 business days | $30 |
| Wire or SWIFT | International | 5 to 10 business days | $30 |
Aeropay’s “instant” description applies after approval and depends on the receiving bank’s support for real-time payments. Wise recipients who do not already have an account must claim the transfer within seven calendar days or the funds are returned to Topstep. Banks and transfer services may charge their own fees even where Topstep lists no fee.
How to confirm Topstep payout receipt
Receipt is the point when the net amount posts to the selected destination. It should be tracked separately from the request date, approval date, and transfer notice. Keep the dashboard confirmation, approval message, payment-method notice, and the receiving-account entry so a delay can be located in the correct stage.
Reconcile the gross requested amount against the profit split and any method fee. For example, a trader on the 90/10 split who requests $500 by ACH would expect $420 after the $50 split amount and $30 stated ACH fee, before any receiving-bank charge. This arithmetic explains an expected net amount; it does not prove receipt.
If the method’s stated estimate has passed, first check whether approval was completed, whether a weekend or holiday intervened, whether the destination name matches the Topstep account, and whether Wise still requires a claim step. Contact Topstep support with the request and approval references when those checks do not explain the delay.
What this Topstep payout guide does not verify
BestProps did not test a Topstep account, submit a payout, inspect Topstep’s internal review records, or verify the marketing approval-rate and average-speed statistics on Topstep’s promotional page. The official policy supports the stated rules and estimates, but it cannot establish an individual trader’s approval likelihood or actual receipt time.
This page does not claim that every eligible request is approved, that every approved payout arrives within an estimate, or that Topstep’s current terms will remain unchanged. Compare the current dashboard and official policy before requesting. For firm-level context, see the Topstep profile and the BestProps payout hub.
How this Topstep payout guide was checked
The primary document is Topstep’s Payout Policy, supported by the official Express Funded Account parameters and Live Funded Account parameters. All were rechecked July 31, 2026. The promotional instant-payout page was reviewed only to identify claims that should not be treated as guaranteed outcomes.
Topstep payout questions
Is an eligible Topstep payout automatically approved?
No. Eligibility means the account meets the published request rules. Topstep still performs an internal review before approving a payout.
Does a Topstep payout arrive in one to three business days?
Not necessarily. Topstep says internal approval itself can take one to three business days. The selected payout method then has a separate estimate, and the receiving institution must post the transfer.
Are Topstep Aeropay payouts always instant?
No. Topstep describes Aeropay as real-time after approval for supported US banks. If the bank does not support real-time payments, the transfer may take one to three business days, and some requests may require additional review.
What is the minimum Topstep payout request?
Topstep’s official policy lists a $125 minimum for Express Funded and Live Funded Account payout requests.
