Key takeaways
Compare futures prop firms by account stage, drawdown method, payout gate, recurring cost, platform connection, and live-account path. Tradeify documents a simulated-funded stage that may lead to live capital, Topstep uses a simulated Trading Combine and Express Funded Account before possible Live Funded selection, and Top One Futures offers both evaluation and direct simulated-funded paths. These are different structures, not a universal ranking. Check the exact program documents before buying.
How we researched this article
BestProps used document-based research from primary firm sources, checked August 1, 2026. The complete source list, scope, limitations, and commercial-state record appear near the end of this article.
How to compare futures prop firms
A useful comparison starts with the exact program rather than the firm name. Two plans from the same provider can use different billing, drawdown, payout, and account-stage rules.
Check six fields:
- Whether the first stage is an evaluation or a direct simulated-funded account.
- Whether drawdown is static, intraday trailing, or end-of-day trailing.
- Whether a daily loss control pauses trading or fails the account.
- Which profit, winning-day, consistency, and balance gates apply to payouts.
- Whether fees recur and whether a post-pass activation charge applies.
- Whether a live-capital stage is available, possible, or guaranteed. Treat it as possible unless the agreement says otherwise.

Three futures program structures
Tradeify simulated-funded path
Tradeify describes its Simulated Funded Account as trading without actual capital while remaining eligible for payouts. It says consistent performance may lead to a live account. That makes a live transition possible, not automatic.
Tradeify says its Growth, Select, and Lightning accounts use end-of-day trailing maximum drawdown, with the active floor enforced in real time. Product-specific exceptions still need a separate check.
Topstep evaluation and account stages
Topstep describes the Trading Combine as a monthly subscription that continues until the associated account passes or the trader cancels it. Topstep uses simulated Trading Combine and Express Funded stages before possible selection for a Live Funded Account.
The Topstep payout policy separates Express Funded and Live Funded eligibility. Do not transfer a winning-day rule or payout cap from one stage to another.
Top One Futures evaluation and direct paths
Top One Futures publishes several paths. Its account comparison describes evaluation routes and direct simulated-funded routes. The Instant Sim Funded program does not require an evaluation, while Elite products use their own evaluation and funded-stage terms.
The Elite DAILY payout policy says eligible requests may be submitted every 24 hours. Eligibility conditions remain part of the rule.

Futures prop firm costs to record
Headline price is only one input. Record the first payment, renewal interval, reset charge, activation charge, data or platform cost, and the conditions that stop billing. Promotions can change and should not be treated as the standard price.
Use the BestProps cost calculator with prices you read at checkout. It performs arithmetic from your inputs and does not predict passing, payout approval, or account value.
Futures prop firm rule checklist
- Save the official program page and terms before purchase.
- Confirm whether the account uses simulated or live capital.
- Write down the current drawdown floor and when it moves.
- Separate daily loss, maximum drawdown, and consistency rules.
- Read payout eligibility, approval, caps, and transfer timing separately.
- Confirm the supported broker connection and platform for the selected account.
- Recheck the documents after a promotion, product update, or stage change.

Futures prop firm questions
Which futures prop firm is best
There is no evidence-backed universal winner. The useful choice depends on the exact plan, recurring cost, drawdown, payout gate, platform, and account-stage path.
Are funded accounts always live accounts
No. Many programs use simulated evaluation and simulated-funded stages. A possible live-capital transition should not be presented as guaranteed.
Did BestProps test these firms
No. BestProps checked the linked firm-authored documents on August 1, 2026. It did not buy, trade, pass, request a payout, contact support, or test execution for these programs.
